SABAH ECONOMIC ACTION COUNCIL (SEAC)
Background
The Asian economic crisis which began in July 1997 has affected many countries in this region including Malaysia.
The Sabah State Government responded to the crisis by having a series of meetings and discussions since September 1997 to identify measures to minimise the likely adverse impact brought on by the crisis. The series of discussions resulted in the setting up of the Sabah Economic Action Council (SEAC) and the formulation of the 7-point Strategic Response Plan to address the critical issues and problems arising from the economic crisis.
